All original 1957 P-bass. Just wondering what the value might be, All original except for a 1970"s refin. Any info on what its worth please send it along. More pics later if needed.
It's worth between $4,000-$5,000. If it had original case you could tack on $700.
I am in the market for original 1950s Precisions every day. If this were original finish it would be worth between $12,000-$15,000.
Only all-original basses sell high and sell fast. Most everything else takes a long time to sell. The same is true currently for all collectable markets. The unimpeachable items have money chasing them, and everything else, not so much.
Do you have more pics? The original guard would have had a clearcoat on it, and the tugbar would be the older, brown one with rounded edges. Also not seeing the router hump in the lower cutaway.
