Fender Patent Drawings/Sketches

Anyone know where to find PDF's or Hi-res patent drawings for the Fender bass or even guitars? Like this one pictured below? (obviously I'm looking for a full size, print quality image)

Hi.

I might be wrong, but didn't Fender offer them as posters at some point in time?

I doubt that You'll find one big enough to blow up to the poster size in digital form though.

Since the line thickness is prety uniform, "cleaning up" any example is just time consuming, but not very hard.

Fairly large copy

There are many websites that publish pdf versions of US patents for free. You just need to know what one you're looking for.

The original files that the USPTO keeps are extremely high resolution, but they are almost always scans of paper documents. For anything that old, they are definitely scans of paper documents. They are also 2 color - no greyscale, just black & white.

Of course, US Patent Documents are public record and freely available. Those guys selling patent images on fancy paper for $10 on ebay are literally using a computer printer to print a free picture on fancy paper.

The above copy is fairly big indeed, and its 300dpi (print size is 35x20cm, or if you resample to 180dpi, thats about 50x30cm). You could use Illustrator ability to vectorize it, or use one of online free services to do that (i forgot the name, but there's one that does really great job), than you could print it out at whatever size you wish.
