Fender pickup question

Ok so im thinking of replacing my pickups in my low end bass, so my question is since i dont have a real fender p bass, will the fender original 62 reissue pickups work in my low end bass that is designed like a p bass ? Sorry if this is a newb question but ive only been playing for 2 years

The Fender Original 62 P pickup has has had many good reviews here, but I have not had the opportunity to use it.

I have used the Seymour Duncan SPB 1 (vintage P) and the Dimarzio DP250 (Area P), and both are excellent vintage sounding P pickups.

I think the SPB 1 might be a little louder.

The EMG Geezer Butler P has also had a lot of positive feedback here as well.

It will, but the 62 Original is a really bright pickup that's all highs and high mids with some bottom end on it. It's not a bad sound but I was not all that happy with it and was always looking for ways to tame down its brightness. Got an EMG Geezer Butler P in my Precisions that's much better and much more even through the mids IMHO. Fender's also got some better pickups now than the 62 Original apparently, but the Geezer's so good I'm done shopping for a pickup.

However, there are some low end pickups in some of these low end basses that are actually pretty good. I had a couple SX basses that had very good sounding pickups, except the polepieces stuck up really high and I'd always clang the strings into them. So what are you looking to get out of your bass that you're not getting with the current pickup? Whatever it is, I'll still suggest checking out the Geezers ;)
