Fender Precision = most popular model?

Is it still true? In my area I see like around 10jazzers for every 1 Pbassist.

No, the Jazz has been the most popular Fender bass for some time now. I'm still not quite sure when this trend started, though.

I think it kinda fluctuates. People have different moods, a lot of people own both a jazz and a P and switch between the two. It's hard to say without know exactly what everyone owns.

Yeah, I just picked one up a couple of weeks ago after a 15 year absence. It sounder just right in the mix with no hassles. Go figure. All those years of buying different basses only to re-discover the P.

this happens to many players. in my infinite wisdom it happened to me. once i started using fenders again, everything i track just seems to fall into place with no issues. as you said, go figure. peace, jeff

The P has always fit my sound, something undenialbly right about it.

Maybe it was because the Precision was first and helped define the sound of that era of Rock & Roll?

Love the Precision!!! It just sounds right. It's extremely versatile, although maybe for progrsssive players it's not the right bass (I'm not a progressive player... no tapping etc, for me). But you can play any kind of music with it... it sounds right and looks right.

Plus, I love the simplicity... one volume knob, one tone knob. I hate instruments that you have to fuss with, to get a good sound.
