Fender Price Jumps

Is it me, or has anyone else noticed that Fender basses are jumping up in price like every six months or so? I recently saw a Geddy Lee new for $1000! The last time I looked they were going for $849. Same with the Marcus Miller V, that is now going for $1999, when a few months ago they were going for $1799, and then $1599 before that. That is a about a year or so? I was going to get a Marcus Miller V with my tax money, but at this point I might as well put the extra dollars, an get a Metro.

Let me know what you guys think? Have you noticed the price jumps in your area?

Although I own a MM5, that's exactly what I would do or a Mike Lull

Its been mentioned and there is inflation but the price increase is not across the board (ie all Fender instruments) its just certain models. The most popular models. In the last 24hrs the Jaco bass went up $300 bux from $1799.99 to $2199.99.:eyebrow:

It has been spotty. I think some places are still selling off '08 inventory. I saw the MIM's jump up on a few websites. Highway-1's are up at least 100 on some sites. Geddy's just keep going up and up.

I did however see a 50's P honey blonde for $499 the other day...and I drooled.

According to Fender, all of their 2009 instruments are seeing a 20% hike. Most dealers' inventories are reflecting that by now. Some, though, do still have some 08 inventory left that they can sell off at the old prices.

It hasn't happened in the past 24 hours.....They announced the increase months ago and even gave the effective date for it.

Stores are still selling the older instruments they have for the older prices. When they sell those, they update their website/pricing to the newer pricing.

Same thing every year. LOL ;)

edit. I should of read beyond your post because it's been addressed.
