FENDER ROAD WORN P-BASS PICTURES...!!!

This bass is far to good for the price tag!! (IMO)
Why did the Custom Shop stopped producing the 59 series????
They only make the Pino and the 64 Jazz NOS, CC and Relic's.
The answer is here: they didn't make enough profit on the whole P-line cause wages are far to high in the US.
Play this bass and you know why.............
The price compared to the other CS basses should at least twice as high to be competitve!!
I'm sorry to tell this because I bought lots of CS P-Basses:
55P CC, 59CC, 64 CC Jazz and the Pino Palladino.
Why is this bass sooooo good???????

Are these any different than the regular 50s precicions? I thought they were the same just with the relic job?
I played the regular 50s P-bass in salmon color. I thought it was just a cool looking orange P-bass, picked it up and was very surprised by the quality and sound. They're just good P-basses plain and simple.

I agree, I think it would look better with a tort guard even though that defeats the purpose of it being a 50's p-bass.
My 50s P in Fiesta red (just like the Pino) cannot be compared with the 50s Road Word:
The Road Worn body is much lighter
The laquer is Nitro so very thin for a better sound.
Bodywood with the neck (also nitro) has far more sustain.
The 50s P bass (Fiesta Red or Honey Blonde) is a very good bass but still no Road Worn.
I'm convinced the Road Worn 50s bass is far better then the Highway One P-bass (I owm them both)

Sounds like it is up to par with an American P from what you're saying. I'm happy you are enjoying your new toy.
just when I overcame GAS and particularly P-bass GAS....
at least they dont make a 60's Road Worn P, I got the 50's pretty much covered up by my Nash but I'd really love a 60's P that didnt cost a fortune and I could take anywhere without worry (unlike my fullerton era '62 RI).

Good looking bass! I disagree with a previous post as to the dent from the bridge cover looking strange,after years of banging around in a case that is exactly what happens.I was at GC Wednesday and they only had Road Worn Strats.One thing I noticed about them was the relicing was exactly the same on all 3 of them.Were you able to compare yours to another?I guess they use a template to keep labor cost down.I think it's a cool looking bass,I say ROCK that sucker!!!
I really like it. I was a little skeptical at first as to how these would look, but based on your pics, they (Fender) did a pretty convincing job.

I had a chance to play a Road Worn P bass and then a Road Worn J bass yesterday and I was very impressed. They both looked, played, and sounded great. The only thing that stopped me from pulling the trigger is that I'm holding out on a Fiesta Red Jazz.

Played one similar to yours last week. Very nice instrument with a solid feel, and fast neck. Only tried it unplugged so can´t comment about the sound, but the bass had a nice unplugged sound.
If I were looking to upgrade my Mike Dirnt P-bass, I´d get one of those puppies without thinking it twice.

While it does look kinda cool and all, I'm still not sold on buying something for that kind of price that's been pre beat up. That white one you had there, now that was sharp looking.
If you are talking about the 57P at the back with the maple neck:
The Road Worn P sounds better and plays faster!!!
And all this for lots of $ less.....

Guys(gals),let me get this out of the way.Those basses look awesome!!But......The price.I just can't justify paying what Fender is charging for ANY of their products.Like I said though,beautiful ax,man.Beautiful.Well done.To each their own.
