Fender Rumble 100 long drive good deal?

I am looking for a decent bedroom amp that I can use to sometimes play with a drummer who lives above me. (if you cant beat em...might as well)

My requirements for an amp are headphone jack, aux in, reliable and enough output to play along with the drummer. I'm not sure if there is a drummer that ISNT a loud drummer, but when he is really itching to jam he always says "I will play soft I promise" Which he usually does a decent job at not trying to impale his drum heads.

I found a used Fender Rumble 100 on CL for $140, and I offered the guy $100 do to the fact it's 66 miles away one way.

So figure $35 in gas and about 4 hours round trip (LA traffic friday night)

I noticed they discounted the Rumble 100 in favor of the 150. Were there some known issues? Does $100 seem like a good deal? or even $140? It is suppose to be in like new condition.

The Rumbles, tone aside, have a hurtin reputation for reliability. I predict frustration.

I've had a Rumble 60 for a year now. Zero issues...

I've had a rumble 100 for 4 years with no problems at all. Excellent tone for a bedroom amp. I have used it with our church band. It gets swamped by a loud drummer but works OK with a quiet group.

I have a Rumble 100 and love it. Great tone. Decent power.
And it sounds great when you plug an iPod into it. It's a portable party.
I loaned it out with a microphone to a local soccer club and girl scouts for
a PA. Now, they're always borrowing it.
I bought it new a few years back and it's never had a reliability problem.

My boy was playing my bass through this amp just this week. It was
then that I realized just how loud this thing gets. I usually play loud but
I don't usually get to hear my gear from the other side of the house.

I was provided one to use at an audition once. I was impressed with it. If I could find one for $100 I might buy it for a practice/rehearsal amp. It might even work on some gigs where you didn't need lots of power. For that matter, I saw a bass player using one of those small Behringer combo amps at a gig (the ones that tilt back) and he was doing OK, so I don't see why the Rumble 100 couldn't be used for some gigs.

i play my guitar players for practice. i like the tone, pretty loud. I'd buy it, no question. it keeps up with 2 guitars and 2 keys. granted our drummer doesn't play very loud.

same experience for me as many of the above.
I have had my Rumble 100 for 3.5 years with no issues whatsoever. It has been very reliable.

If the person you have chatted with has taken care of the amp, I think you will be pleased with the purchase.
