Fender Rumble 150 w/8"Speakers

Approximately 10 years ago, I bought a used Fender Rumble 150. Therefore, I do not know how old the unit is. The setup consisted of an amp head and separate speaker cabinet with two 8" speakers.

Recently, I did some research on my unit and experienced difficulty in locating information. The information I find suggests that the Fender Rumble 150 was a combo amp with a 15" speaker. I find nothing that shows or describes the configuration that I have.

Does anyone have any information to support the Rumble 150 in the configuration that I have? If you can share that information, I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance for all responses.

Do you have a photo of it? It's possible somebody took the amp out of a Rumble 150 combo and put it in their own cabinet.

I don’t recall any 8” rumble cabinets (outside of the tiny combos).

There were at least 2 versions of rumble 150 head, one with squared off edges and one with rounded edges. All rumble heads were metal, without a wood shell.

There were also several versions of rumble 150 combos, but none with 8” speakers that I am aware of.

You have Rumbles from the V2 series, offered from 2010-2014. In addition to the combos mentioned above, there were two neo cabinets, a 2x8 and a 1x12, and two amp heads, a 150 and 350. The Rumble Club Wiki or a Google search will yield more information.

I just looked at this, I didn’t realize they ever went into production! I do recognize this now that I see it…

They couldn’t have sold many, ~250 watts RMS, 500 watts program power, expensive for what they were and didn’t really fit in with the whole Rumble concept.

I probably have some new replacement drivers in the shelf.

No way would I be thinking 2x8 could handle 250w of bass.

To get anywhere near driving that Rumble amp hard, I'm going to guess either the amp breaks up or the speakers do.

I'm inclined to believe the engineers at Fender are not stupid and the marketers know better than to expose their employers to liability.

Either the speakers are good for it or the rating is at an impedance that includes a recommended extension cab.

If it’s the drivers I am thinking of, they are pretty good drivers but they do have their low frequency limitations.

The 250 watt RMS, 8 Ohm Rumble V2 2x8" & 1x12" Neo cabs with the V2 Rumble 350 head were the first Rumbles of any kind to seriously catch my eye in a local music store sometime between 2010 & 2014. The cabs, though small, weighed more than I expected for Neos. If I hadn't already been running a couple of Bassman 250 & 150 combos I'd have looked closer.

Then, all of a sudden, it was 2014 and I ordered a brand new Rumble V3 500 combo out of sheer curiosity. And it won me over, totally!!.
