fender rumble 150

I LOVE my Rumble 100 15". Great sound out of a surprisingly inexpensive, solid-state combo. In fact, the preamp section on the Rumble series ranks right up there with my favorites.

It's not light, it's not really powerful enough without FOH support in a band, and I think the LEDs underneath are tacky. The rat fur is... well, rat fur. But for the price, IMO, you really can't beat it, especially for a home practice amp that will probably never be pushed past halfway.

I can't honestly speak for the 210 config, but I'm serious about the preamp. Great sound, and very reliable.

my main amp recently died on me. i was thinking of getting one of these or a gallien kruger mb115 but i can't find many sound samples of the mb115. can't play test one locally either. any ideas on which is the better buy?

I've A/B'd the 200 watt GK115 combo and the 75 (?) watt Fender Runble combo. Both have good tones but in different areas. Fender is heavier. Line out is 1/4" on Fender and XLR on GK. For practice either will work, but Fender cost less. I've seen both used as on-stage monitors in large venues, and in talking with both bassist, both were happy with the on-stage volumn levels.

it's looking like the rumble 150 will be the way to go. i also looked at the marshall mb150 but i can't find reviews, sound samples or anything on it so i dissmissed it. i did notice however that thomann are having a sale on gallien kruegers. i could get an mb200 with a cab for a decent price.

Do that. As much as I like Fender amps and think that the Rumble line is way under rated...you will likely be happier in the long run with a separate head/cab.

---I play a Rumble 150 at church, with a loud drummer. That's without a plexi shield. I've never had to turn it past halfway. It's very loud, for a combo.
