Fender Rumble 500 Gain knob sweep question.

I bought myself a Rumble 500 but I'm pretty sure something is not right here.

The "gain" knob on the far left. Somewhere between 9-10 it goes from not much to WIDE OPEN!

There is no sweep on the pot at all. I've never played a Rumble before but this can't be how its supposed to work right? Scared the crap out of me it was so loud lol.

It is unlike most amps, in that when gain is fully counterclockwise you can still have output, but it should be a gradual increase.
My Rumble 40 stays around noon on the gain knob.

I can't say that I have noticed a jump on my gain on the 500.

Thx guys, That's what I figured. It was listed as B stock when I bought it. Now I know why! Back it goes.
