I still like my Rumble 150 combo but it bugs me a bit that unlike the newer 200 combo, I can't hook up an extension cab. Any work around on this? Starting to feel inadequate.

No, sadly there isn't. Assuage your inadequacies with a Rumble 500 head and a pair of Rumble 115 cabinets.

Sorry, got carried away with the page count. Didn't notice the post count. drool Rumble 150 has long since been relegated to the practice/rehearsal room. Still is a great amp, just let a little connectivity envy get the best of me.

Come to think of it, there is a Rumble 500c that just became available a few posts back at very attractive price. Then you'd only have to get the 115. Opportunity is knocking!

Hello,
After the Basslite upgrade did you notice a large jump in "loud" (read "gigability"), the stock speaker is a very low sensitivity one : 93bd (NAD - Fender Rumble V3 100) and if at 97 bd the Basslite is not a monster, the improvement might be very large.

Hi Istelie,

The size of the room I could cover did grow with the thicker sound of the Basslite. It pretty much took the 40 to levels I previously got out of the 100. The Fender tone is still there, just more of it. It is noticeable.

I also tried a Mesa/Boogie preamp into the effects return with the Deep switch engaged. It's like a loudness button on a vintage stereo, more bass at lower volume. The thing was that I could go to higher volume with the switch engaged before clipping. I went back to the Fender front end for the drive and more EQ options.

Maybe you could use the Eric_B concept of slave/master out of the send-return fx loop with another Rumble 150? or maybe consider a speaker upgrade? Not sure about the availability of another used 150 though, and not sure if it has to be another R150. Maybe a speaker upgrade is easier.

The FX loop will work and upgrading the speaker for one with higher sensitivity should also give you some more dB.

Another uption is to do my mod (see my sig) so you can add an external speaker.
Be aware though that adding an extra speaker willl change the amount of ohms the amp encouters and it might not be up for this task.

Yeah, if @Meghans Dad does your mod, he'll have to change out the stock 4 ohm driver for an 8 ohm. Best bet is to line the cabinet and upgrade the woofer.

I had a great gig with the band last night, one of those rural small town festivals we have in the midwest.
Included is a nice shot of the all Fender rig (plus a diamond compressor) and me lost in the grove.
This P bass sounds like a grindy, snarly beast. The Fender orig 62 pickups that is has on it have an upper mid bump, you couple that with nickel DR-Lo riders that also are mid forward and the tone was totally beastly.

I got lost in an orange grove once.

But now they are all gone because orange county finally has more people than oranges. My childhood memories have all been replaced by more tract housing and strip malls (or more accurately strip plazas centered by a grocery store and rite aid or target type store)

At least you can't catch scurvy getting lost in an orange grove.

That requires special permission. In the neighboring strawberry fields (always next to the orange grove), the farmers might shoot at you with rocksalt rounds in a shotgun, but I heard stories about people taking a wrong turn in Kentucky and winding up in a weed field and not making it out alive. This was before legalization of course, but somebody's grow op is not a good thing to accidentally stumble upon, thanks to prohibition

Plus not so sure how useable the product is in its non cured form

Thanks. Yea, hes a good player and a nice guy/gentle giant. I've tried to simplify my solos lately, more groove focused and less burning across the fretboard
