Fender V '65

Hi everyone!
I'm planning to buy a Fender V from 1965, in very well condition...I haven't played it yet, but it'll probably sound great.
Do some of you know more about this bass? how can i recognize that all parts are original? any other advises are welcome too

Yes! Please post pictures!

All of the 'standard' Fender features of the 65 era should be present...but sometimes its easier to pick out stuff that shouldn't be there. Besides, we just like pictures of shiny toys.

-15 frets
-5 in line tuners
-early examples of the bass V had dot markers inlaid on thair rosewood FB on a maple neck but about a year after it introduction thr bass V acuired block inlays and a bound neck
-bridge cover looked like the one form a p bass but had the f stamp of a jazz cover
-hac conturs
-funny looking strched body

Nope...that's about right. Check the SN and see if you can get a shot of the neck heel and electronics from the inside...the neck should be date stamped and the pots should have part codes that can also be dated.

The decal should be on top of the finish. That bass (and decal) looks right. Nice bass.
