That’s what I was thinking. No way Fender touches a used instrument not owned by the original purchaser. There’s missing or incorrect information somewhere in this situation.

Well I do hope you get it back or something in return.
From the picture of you and the white J, I'd say you and Jazz basses get alone pretty well.
Sometimes there is a bond and it just shows.

Was it picked up by Fed X ?
They should have left you a receipt and a tracking number.
There should be a clear record of where it went.

I feel pretty sure that whoever had it last is responsible now.
Working out just who that is will be the first step.
Did Fender sign for it?
Did the tracking number lead all the way to them?

Fender never lets you send things back, unless you're the first owner. So the person you have sent your bass to, cannot be Fender. They are probably a scammer.

That's bad news. Chances of getting the bass back are small.
