Fener Rumble 40 v3 Gain knob loud buzz

I have a v3 Fender rumble 40 that works perfectly fine other than the gain knob. I need to keep the gain knob all the way down or else the amp will start making a loud buzzing noise. Even if I ever so slightly turn it up it will make that same exact sound. I'm wondering if you guys know any solutions to this issue, any ways I can fix this myself? Thank you!

They are many things you can try to do to determine if the amp is the issue here, but fixing an amp yourself depends on your knowledge of electronics. If I were you, I’d start by trying the following easy tests before going any further. Remember I don’t know you and some things might seem obvious, but I don’t know how experienced you are…

- First, you need to know if it comes from the amp. So unplug the cord from the input. If the buzzing is gone, the problem is not the amp… in that case;
- try a different cable. If the problem is still there…
- try a different bass…

If the problem is still there, it might be the amp and… I can’t help you any further given my extremely limited electronics knowledge…
