Fernandes and Japanese Vintage

I just bought a Fernandes Burny Bass from the 70's. Im curios to know what kind of wood was used in the bodys, seems to me that it's made of 3 layers of 2 different wood. But I cant tell how many pieces since it's lacquered in black. Anyone ho knows?
If anyone have good links of info about Japanese instruments please post them.

I´ve had one in sunburst and it had meranti as body wood and it was a heavy ass bass that didn´t sound too good.
