I actually have a couple of these and keeping the lighter of the two....
This is a 30 y.o. (early '90's) Fernandes APB 5 bass manufactured by the Fugi-whatever plant in Japan. It's in VGC and weighs in at ~9 lbs. It's actually the predecessor to the Fernandes Gravity used by Robert Trujillo / Metallica...the apple doesn't fall far from the tree! Excuse the horrid photos...you're more than welcome to see it firsthand. Now, the dope:
*34" scale, ~9 lbs, 24 frets.
*3 piece maple neck, RW fingerboard.
*Gotoh-esque 3/8" tuners...just in case you want to add Ultralites or Res-o-lites.
*Gotoh variable-spacing bridge...substantial and overly-convoluted!!
*Nicely figured ash body w/ substantial poly finish for protection.
*Proprietary active FGI pickups...yes, the pickups themselves are active.
*Aftermarket Audere preamp / Vol-Vol-Mids-Stacked Treble & Bass. The original pre will be included just in case you wish to re-install (why?!?). It was no slouch but the Audere is a stereo mixer so no tone-suck associated w/ conventional blend configurations. IOW, even the bridge pickup has more "ooomph" instead of acting like an anemic afterthought.
*Non-original hardshell case. Hey...it works and provides a level of protection over & above some lame a** gig bag.
*Currently strung w/ Dunlop SuperBrights...can't recall if they're nicks or SS.
Asking $450 or best offer or trade-bait. Will ship on buyer's dime but, man, it's become so durn expensive!
Don't really need anything but I'm stupid that way. Please message me with any questions, offers, etc!
