Finally started a band!!

Finally after almost 2 years the searching has ended.i have been playing on and off for 13 years. Today after putting some adds on craigslist and musicians contacting me I managed to put something together.Band consist of lead guitarist/vocals,rhythm guitarist/vocals,me on bass and backup vocals,and a drummer. eventually would like to get either a keyboard player or a multi musician who could do a little of everything.i'm very stoked as this is my 1st band.Cant wait to start playing live and writing songs!

Good for you. Stick with it. There are trials and tribulations, but it's sometimes worth it.

Congratulations! There's no going back now. What are you going to be playing?

Having more musicians is always cool for the musical possibilities it opens up, but if it's going to be a gigging band, I'd recommend caution. More people = more schedules to juggle, more opportunities for conflict and drama, and more ways gig money has to be split. Be sure you really need the additional member to meet your goals before adding them.

THIS is sage advice.
Keytards are notorious for adding problems, not to mention an additional split.

Thanx everyone and I will keep posted!keyboard player is a no hurry situation.Right now theres no genre of music.But if I had to put a name on it i'd say rock.Basically your typical lead and rhythm guitar,bass,drums,and one of the guitar players is also our lead vocals.writing all originals.gunna be fun!

For an originals band I'd definitely be more open to it. A cover band is all about getting the set list tight, getting out to gig (and having everyone available to do so), and the gig money. In an originals deal, you're either going to hit the big time so that money doesn't matter, or (more likely) just make music for your own satisfaction. Either way, as long as everyone gets along and works together well, the additional players are not as much of an issue.
