Double Bass Finding a Electric Upright Bass

Hey,
I am currently lookig for a good EUB. i was wondering what brands would be good. i am certainly blank and dull in the knowledge of electric upright basses. any recommendations?
(sorry for my bad english)

Thanks!
@brahmshalim :)

The biggest questions you need to ask yourself are about your wants/needs. Are you an electric player just looking for an EUB to play with? Are you a double bassist that wants an EUB for those smaller playing areas? Is bowing an ability you want?

There are more, but you get the idea. Once you can figure out exactly what you're hoping to get out of an EUB, we can make better suggestions.

my background with bass...i never really played the DB - i play the bass guitar more. i'm a heavy fan of rhcp, and some others like wooten, etc. :)
more than that, i listen to some jazz, bossa novas, but i never had a db or eub. i discussed this with my fater and he said that it would be better to buy an eub, cos we're not those crazy pros. what do you think? all opinions accepted ;D

Why do you want an EUB? Knowing would make a recommendation easier.

If you want something durable and loud a solidbody with a magnetic pickup would do that. If you want to come as close as you can to the double bass (understanding any EUB will always fall short of that sound) something with a resonant top like an Eminence might be better.

well i guess i want a EUB because im quite a big fan of latin jazz, bnovas, jazz etc, as my mom is a pianist that can play jazz as well. using a db seems to fail me from playing as loud as the piano. moreover, i have no official lessons, so, my parents adviced me to get an EUB. they kind of prefer gettig a Palatino ve500/ve550, but last time i traveled to sungapore, the firt few cm from the next doesnt produce any sound change - and this is why my parents refused the palatino EUB. is it true, or does this apply to all EUBs as well? :)

thanks!
