Yes, any time you have to put your fingers down on the string, it's more cumbersome than playing open strings. Those fingerings are acceptable, just play them a bazillion times so they become second nature.

Those are just regular old E-flat and B-flat major arpeggios. This is exactly why you should include scales and arpeggios in every key as part of your daily routine. When you do that, a passage like this becomes second nature.

Nothing wrong with that fingering of the first part. The open G string works just fine. You might also want to try to play the Bb of the first measure on the D string with 4 and the Bb of the second measure on the G string with 4. That makes the big jump from Eb to Bb less akward but involves one more string crossing for the bow.

For the second part: nothing wrong either. You might want to consider going back to the lower position from the 3rd beat on (F) of the 2nd measure. So that F Bb F D Bb becomes 1 1 1 4 1. Either fingering works fine.

Bar 155 - If you are caught playing the first E flat in Half Position then drop to the octave E flat on your 2nd finger (something that you can do with great confidence) , play the B flat beside it with 2, do the "cheat" open G while you hand drops back to Half Position for the remainder?

Bar 161 - play the last B flat in HP on the A string after open D?

Tom Martin's advice to me years ago - there are times to be heard and there are times to play musically - they might not coincide. Also, if you are bowing very heavily for full power at or near the balance point of the bow you still have to play very clearly and well in tune. Whacking the thumb down to the base of the neck will give great confidence to the top E flat as it does for the top F.

I would try to find a way to play as much in one position as you can. For the top one you can play the eb in 2nd and a half position with a 1 then go for the top eb with a 4 in the same position (3 1/2). play the Bb in the same place. Go into second and first position for the rest so you can apply vibrato to the open strings. The bottom fingering is what i'd do
