Finished my tele bass

Finally finished my bass. It has a chambered Alder body with a poplar top, flame maple neck with sperzels. 31" scale w/ zero fret. Pickup is a tapped single coil 1/4 lb SD tele neck p/u (scavenged off my tele). Krylon Ivory Gloss with Deft Nitro on top of it. Home machined bridge plate, saddles, control plate and pickguard. Output jack in place of tone control for the time being.

You stole my idea!!! Really though, mine was to put a 51' style at the bridge with the lipstick at the neck. Good job! How much?

I thought about the 51 bridge/lipstick too! Maybe at some point I will do that. If you wanted a jazz at the bridge, I see these bridges turn up on ebay sometimes that have a hole cut out of the bridgeplate for a jazz PU. Its not slanted though, so...

This was done on a serious budget.

So here is about what I spent:

45 tuners
13 truss rod
10 frets
25 lumber
8- 2 cans Krylon Ivory (old formulation)
15-2 cans deft nitro clear
10 Dunlop straplocks
1 pickguard material (TAP plastic cut offs)
4 aluminum for control plate
3 bridge screws
10 strings
4 knob

$148 total

I already had the pickup, switch, jack and aluminum for the bridge. The bridge saddles are made from an exacto knife handle.
