FireGlo Rick with Black PG

Anyone have pics of a Rickenbacker 4003 Fireglo with a black pickguard. I'm considering getting a black PG but what to see if its a good mix or not

Its just a much darker shade of red than the regular fireglo. Plan B is to take a picture of my bass and just switch the pickguard color in Photoshop

+1 That should get you closer than any picture we can dig up on the 'net.
Fwiw, I've liked every Fireglo/black pg example I've ever seen, but I'm also biased - I never met a Ric I didn't like.

I was thinking about this too! IMO it would not look cool because of white binding

I don't think it would look that good. It might work, but I just honestly don't think it would look as good as the white one does. I love the stock look of my fireglo 4003!

yeah, as much as i love black guards on most everything ('70s chrome red precision w/ black guard and maple neck is the best ever), I've never felt the need to put a black guard on the Rick. In general i find Ricks, at least 4003's, look much better the way god made 'em, with white guards.

Gotta admit, the legend of the red Ric is a doozy.

I think that a B/W/B pickguard would look great. It would tie in the binding.

I prefer wood on mine

Yeah I am with keeping them factory looking other than the P/U cover removal. How hard is it to change the binding anyway?
