So here it is. My first bass. I got it from pete's bass shop when i was down in portland two weekends ago and i love it. Pete did a great job with set up and everything. Its a 1950ish Schuster. Its great. it has a really clear top end especially up past thumb position and a really deep bottom end. Its really quick and punchy and the sound is huge under a bow. I am really excited. Hope you enjoy looking at it as much as i like to play it.
WOW!........I wanna hear that bass, man! Congratulations! I will bet big money that you cannot put it down! How is the intonation between the stopped notes??? does it speed up or slow down???? .........-Al p.s.....it looks really cooooolllll !
no name yet... although 'Berty' isnt bad it reminds me too much of bert and ernie on sesame street... maybe thats why i like the name.... any other ideas?
Congradulations on a beautiful bass. For a name what do you think of Selena? When I see a DB the first image that comes to mind is a woman with a big backside. And Selena shure had one. Good Luck God Bless, Ray
I really cant put it down. i must have played for 3 consecutive hours today. Its awesome intonation between stops are a little more difficult down near 1/2 position but they sound gret from 1st position up through thumb and beyond speed up or slow down? isnt that my right hands job???? hahaha i would describe the finger board as fast, but i dont think thats what youre asking... but seriously to say its spectacular is an understatement
Ray Are you refering to the mexican american pop star? or are you eluding to some woman from your past? i do have to agree, it does remind me a woman with some junk in the trunk
Actually I am referring to Selena (the pop star). I grew up in Texas and that girl was everywhere, Way before she became a Pop Star. There aren't many around with more "junk" in the trunk. Usually If they've got "junk" in the trunk, They've got "junk" all over the car. God Bless, Ray
