First Build Done: Meet "Lila"

i am appreciating all the good things on here TBers.
i forgot to mention the best part:
i have been talking with some friends of mine that are in a band. i guess they have been having problems with their current bass player. he likes to do drugs, drink, and get arrested. so needless to say they have had enough of him. i talked to them thinking that maybe i could get in, even tossed around the idea of me joining. once they found out they on top of everything their bass player is going to be a dad, he is barely out of high school, they called me up and said that if i want in the spot is mine.

so they are giving me a cd with the bass tracks and im going to learn their songs by ear. and once that happens and i am gig ready im in.

you can check them out if you all want to:

nothing is official until i learn the stuff though, but im so excited.
i guess it makes me more happy that all my hard work on this bass isnt going to be a waste. im no longer a bass player without a band.

they ask not to be posted on forums, but i can pm you.
i warn you they are pricey, but IMO they are very worth it.

Congrats on a nice build! I am not a purple guy, but that's what makes the world go 'round. I really like the style touches like the black hardware. Did you ever consider making it active? I'd never tried an active bass before a year or so ago, and now if I were to do a custom (prolly next year), it would have a preamp.

And good luck with that new gig. I have been looking and asking around for the past six months, just for fun jams, but every time I find a couple of cats that want to, they ultimately flake out and it's back to just taking lessons for awhile...Keep us up on how that goes too!
