Awesome thread, I'm hoping it becomes a mega-repository for tips and tricks with all the different finishing techniques. After more than a decade of wanting to build pedals, this coming winter marks the beginning of Pedal-Building 101 for me.
As much as I want that Funktronic or a JohnK Mutron clone, the voices in my head have reached a deafening roar for having my own goofy pedal names and graphics. It's taken me a decade to get to this point (I'm not very tech savvy myself, I just reported on it), so we'll see if it goes anywhere. Inertia is a beach.
Oh, and I really dug the Rangemaster, relic'd instruments are in vogue, so why not pedals? Like it has already seen a good gigging life; Looks great IMO!
