Flatround VS. Roundwound

Which one would be better for a deeper tone and not so much for playing actual riffs, if you want to call it that. I mean which one will sound better for a steady quarter note or 8th note in a song, like AC/DC's 'Shot Down in Flames' or the intro to Rush's 'Dreamline'?

There is no real answer, it depends on the tone you are looking to acheive. Flatwounds sound more dull than rounds, when you pluck a note it thumps instead of ringing. With rounds you'll have a cleaner sound with more sparkle to it.

In your case, you might want to try flats for that low chest pounding thumping 8th notes.
