Played this Squire Jaguar today that someone had put active pickups in. I think I really liked it (i'm having a hard time deciding what I want) but I thought I might like it even more with flats (active is maybe a bit too modern and clear for me with roundwounds). The salesman (a bassist) seemed hesitant. I couldn't tell if he thought it was a bad idea and just didn't want to insult me or if he agreed. Is this a crazy idea? It got kind of a weird look, but it doesn't seem that odd to me.
