Flatwound & Tapewound on 35" scale headless bass

hi, Talk Bass member.. greetings.

recently, my colleagues sold me a custom build 6 string headless bass from MG Bass. as someone not used with 35" scale headless bass, can i use any Flatwound & Tapewound since its headles?

I've spoken to Pyramid, La Bella and D'Addario about tapewounds on a headless. All three were worried the strings wouldn't hold -- the nylon would unwrap -- at the headpiece end since the silk holds the nylon together.

Pyramid suggested crimping (bending at a 90 degree angle) the string past the silk and trimming after the crimp. D'Addario (or was it also Pyramid?) suggested putting some super glue on the string just before the cut so the nylon wouldn't unwrap.

I believe the silk on flats serves a similar purpose.

That being said, I noticed on Instagram that Bubby Lewis's headless bass has nylons. You could ask him how he did it.
