BS alarm. To avoid midscoop on J-bass with both PU's full in parallel, the midboost should take place AFTER the pickups, not before (in the PU's, strings for example).

No BS. I find Chromes have a natural midrange emphasis that works with both J PU's full in parallel, but is overkill on a P. When using rounds on a J and I want it to sound more P-like, I do what you're suggesting above by boosting the midrange via EQ pedal.
