Flatwounds on a "fancy" bass

It's all relative. Do people put flats on their $15K '62 Fender Ps?

I guess I have a couple of "fancy" basses - MTD American 535-24, Yamaha TRB-6P probably falling in that category. I actually never thought of putting flats on them, though this thread does make me somewhat interested to try. I haven't yet found a low "B" flat that has enough definition for my taste, but maybe I just haven't tried the right ones.

I do have flats on 5 or 6 other basses, all of which are Fenders or hollowbodies.
