But, by all means, give them a try. If memory serves, T-Bird owners with flats seem to prefer the brighter flats, rather than the other, darker sounding ones...If memory serves, T-Bird owners with flats seem to prefer the brighter flats, rather than the other, darker sounding ones...![]()
I bet Ernie Ball Cobalt flats would sound incredible on a Tbird!
No it was I who said Cobalt flats would sound great on a bird silly not GIBrat51! Not that it matters! And yeah I need to try those Dunlop flats!I bet Ernie Ball Cobalt flats would sound incredible on a Tbird!

Have you tried them michael_t?
I read that someone who tried them said they reminded them of the Cobalts. I really like the Cobalts. They work great on my Pbass as well as my Rick. I added zerofrets to both my Rick and Pbass also. Open strings now sound fretted and the open E sounds much more punchy and well defined.Sorry for the confusion. There were supposed to be two separate quotes in that earlier post but part of it got deleted that shouldn't have been. Fixed now.
To answer your question, no, I haven't had a chance to try the new Dunlop Flats. My suggestion was based on what I've read about them so far.
There are a number of people over on the Thunderbird Club site who seem to think so. I've been tempted to put flats on my T-Bird, but... I really do like the sound of the (now unobtainable) Gibson strings it came with. My quest is for strings that sound like the Gibson strings...But, by all means, give them a try.
