Maybe is nothing or maybe is something. I just spotted flea in front of 3 Ampegs during what looks to be a rehearsal. Snap shot from a clip on YouTube.

Not sure I would ever leave the house with my limited edition remake acoustic brand amps if I were him. The Ampegs are probably his cheapies. I never truly cared what gear he uses though because his tone is in his technique.

Agreed with the last sentence, but he only used those Acoustics for a couple shows and went right back to GK. Flea can handle the expense of taking 360s out and not getting them trashed :D

I remember seeing video of him doing a Jane's Addiction show at a club using a B-15R, too. He did sound like Flea. But hey...Ampeg :D

JimmyM that was my thoughts too! It’s Ampeg! Looks like the 50th anniversary SVT by looks of the handle unless it’s an older SVT AV.

I believe it was Rick Rubin, actually...

My favorite Flea tone and overall vibe, very funky :bassist:
Rick Rubin produced all them albums since Blood sugar, and Brendan O'Brien engineered and maybe mixed BSSM. Tonewise, I always gave credit to him. But I'm a little partial as O'Brien is my favorite producer, if this is a thing (Stone temple Pilots, Pearl Jam,...).
Here's a conversation between Chad Smith and Stone Gossard and them talk about O'Brien working on their respective albums. Smith admits that he (they) never had again the sound of BSSM album:
