Ah, yes... Interestingly it appears that you don't always need a compressor if you slap.

He is like me on the compressor front. I don't feel the need for one so why bother.

That's the opposite of the normal job of a comp. I though he used dbx160s, but I think with the modulus basses and such low action he just doesn't need it.
