Fleishman bass

Hey I just wanted to show off my new handmade Harry Fleishman bass. I just picked it up from the luthiers this morning. The whole thing is flame maple with an ebony fingerboard. It is a 5 string and I tuned it to a high c as opposed to a low b. I found it on craigslist and it had no bridge on it so I had one fabricated for it and it looks and sounds great. It really feels like a jazz bass. It is not a rock/heavy metal sounding bass the fretless is just not heavy enough sounding for it. I'll eventually have to buy a new bridge pickup because there isn't enough output from the original. Enjoy the photos. please reply

Congratulations - those are swell-looking basses. I always admired their curves and general ambience. I'm guessing the bridge plate is original, but it was missing the saddle pieces?

Nope--whole thing was gone. Darren Perry, one of Harry's former students made a new bridge plate. He did an awesome job on all of it.

I have an early Fleishman "stick" style bass needing a neck reset, maybe even a truss rod. I should probably send it to him and get it fixed up.

Beautiful! I love the rakish shape, almost as if it's in motion.
I have a Harry Feishman Flash bass made by Hondo. The model I have was modified to have sideways tone and volume knobs as suggested by the Ox at a NAMM show.
