Double Bass Flexocor Original breakin

On my teacher's advice, I'm trying a set of Flexocor Originals on a fairly young (2013) bass, and to put to mildly, they're pretty brash, especially the G/D. Anyone have an idea about how long they might take to calm down? I'm seeing a luthier next week for a general spring checkup, and am hoping he might be able to tweak things a bit.

Original Flexocor are known to be pretty bright, sometimes recommended for brightening a dark-sounding bass.

I’ve found a good rule of thumb for new strings is 2 weeks. It can depend on how much you play them, body chemistry, whether or not you wipe them down, let rosin build up, etc.

For brighter strings, like Spirocores, I intentionally don’t wipe them down for at least a month.
