Flood! Help!

I got the last two Eminence Beta 10B speakers (according to the distributor) in the country to reload my SWR Goliath Junior II. Awesome to have a 210 that handles 500 watts... then we got a 1-in-35 year storm, that sent 2" of water through my music room. The bottom of the speakers got wet, but it took 6 months of gigging before one failed. Pretty much just peeled away from the frame in the middle of a gig.

Which is exactly one of my fears. The adjuster's going to come and see little damage to my electronics/amps now that they're dried out, but I've been told by more than a few people already that it's potentially dangerous to dry electronics out and reuse them even when they appear to be dry and working.

I had flood damage back in September of '08 after the remains of (I think) Hurricane Ike came up through the Midwest. I wanted to just start moving things upstairs, but MY WIFE convinced me to take pictures...LOTS OF 'EM! I did, and it sure helped. I reviewed them with the Insurance Rep, and that's the last I looked at them. They proved to be invaluable.

Best of luck to you. I know you feel torn up right now. Time heals. Hang in there!

Man, that sucks. I hate dealing with insurance companies. It always feels like they are out to do the customer wrong.

I don't know how bad your damage was, but if your pickups were submerged and are having issues, I'd be happy to fix them for you. No charge for a fellow TB'er in need. I have a repair shop in Nashville, TN. Let me know if you need any help.

Incredibly kind of you, thanks much. I've checked all the basses, and they appear to be working fine. I don't think the water level ever reached as high as the PUPs and/or bridge.
