it was what they offered when i first hooked up with them. it wasn't like today where can do almost anything. inwas an ash guy before i met them in 85.

now, i'm obsessive and want things to bascially be the same with very specific differences (as you can see).

and it is cool. like i say, i am very fortunate to have met the fodera family way back when.

Thanks, man! No, sadly I do not have a recording of it.

It's a killer bass. Very flexible tone. I'm always finding different sounds that I fall in love with. I think of it's tone as having a deep, articulate/focused low end and a kind of punchy mid-range. A good amount of highs, but obviously on the mellow end of the spectrum with the rosewood fingerboard. It sounds great in passive mode, but I usually run it active so I can boost the low end a little bit, especially if I am favoring the bridge pup.

I also did that when I got mine MG, but I went from 6 string to 5 string (E-C) and it was actually fun, needed to concentrate more.

How it went?

yeah, i love that shape and that bass.

i might have more fun visiting croatia ;-)

i like l.a. a lot, but it's probably not as nice as your area. when come here, you're welcome to check them out.

Back from an "interesting" night. Outdoor gig and we ended up having some power problems with the PA - died twice. I'm a firm believer in "the show must go on" so for the first one I whipped out a bit of solo bass Elanor Rigby and the second I just funked it up.

I played the MGS on Do It Again (one where I knew I had a low clam probability). The bass got a big thumbs up from a fellow bass player friend in the audience. This was also the first gig for the Tecamp M212 cabinet. I have to say that Fodera + Tecamp is a match made in heaven.

Tomorrow...well, actually later today is a jazz hit and the MGS will go along with the RA. Was interesting to switch back and forth between MGS and YYD. I did notice a bit of the scale difference but part of that is I'm really used to playing 34" these days, often with my eyes closed. I spent another half hour playing it when I got home - just so much fun and new things that can be done.

I just unearthed a 10 foot board of Zebrawood last week when doing wood organizing that is probably from the same stash that Steuart's tops were made from. At the rate that we now use Zebrawood (sadly, MUCH less often than in years past), I think we have enough for the next 15 years! LOL...

Sweet. Tecamp and Fodera are great together. Still I uses a Epifani cabs - 1x12, 3x10 and 4x10.

Curious more about your feel between 33 and 34 scale. And chambered walnut vs solid walnut :)

Admit it; one of the things you love about that job is that you get to play with all that great wood.
