It's hard to believe a Fodera having a dead spot, but there are also high end sports cars that after their initial assembly, don't start. It can happen with anything.
One thing I learned when talking to Joey is that they will do anything in their power to make sure you are completely satisfied with your instrument. Since it is being shipped to Fodera for repairs, I'd bet it comes back working fine. As far as what they do to it - I have no idea.

True! About calling Fodera it's difficult for me to explain the problem because I'm not so good in English language...probably I'm very unlucky, because like I told before it's the best bass I have ever played but the dead spot is a reality.

Agreed. Americans don't understand accent, even if minimal.
