Double Bass For Jazz and Transportability: Ergo or RM-100?

I'm on the fence between getting an ergo and a thompson rm-100 upright from string emporium. I play jazz, blues, and rock (mainly guitar, but I'm buying with the intent of gigging as a bassist). How does an ergo hold up gigging as a straight ahead jazz musician?

I'd get the RM-100 over the Ergo if I wanted to gig as a straight-ahead jazz bassist.
Less portable though.

Nothing can compare to a real upright bass, go for the RM 100

Hmmm... that's what I'm leaning towards, but ergo's price and portability are pretty great, and I feel like most rock setting the ergo would be better (yet most perhaps most jazz, the Thompson would be).

Any more pros and cons? Experience playing rock with an upright, or jazz with an eub?
