For my 1st bass

I have a squire p- bass I got it as my 1st bass. I don't really use it anymore so I was thinking I would have some fun and put some new pick ups and stuff in it . I really want a funk kinda sound what you think I should get ? Or what do I need to do ?

Sure I can tell you just what to do. You want to install a MFD humbucker in it as a bridge pickup. Install a bunch of G&L style switches (series/parallel etc.) and deal with the electronics to blend the two pickups and you'll have a killer sounding bass.

But be warned that there is enough going on here to keep the noob learning for quite a while. (routing, soldering, circuits, Pickup mounting, etc.) Get online start doing your research on the mod.

Good luck.
