Thats just retarted imo. But yeah fender does seem to love milking peeps for all they can for these faked relic specials. What makes them super rediculous to me is a new strat in nice condition sells for so much less. Lol.

Maybe next they'll make a broken neck tele or strat that cant be played (broken neck) for 10k as a copy of one some player broke on stage.

It's got to be a marketing experiment / and or an internal joke at Fender. I can imagine the dialog while they were sitting around a table at the meeting:

"Yeah, the relic models are selling really well. These people will buy Anything. Hey, let's see if we can get anybody to pay thousands more for one we light on fire. [gigglegiggle]."
