For those with high end basses/gear

I've played dives like that with my Wals! Well, maybe not "no go zone" bad, but a good few rough old pubs. Just don't get the whole "too pretty/expensive to take out of the house" thing!

I read a post once where the fellow said he was buying a limited-edition bass, & was going to keep it in its case, under his bed, while it became more collectible.:sour:
Sad.

I've seen some WAL's that have the most beautiful grains & woods, others are "plain" so to speak, and only a player in-the-know would understand what differentiates it from any other bass.

That said, if I had a WAL, I would play it anywhere & any chance I had!:bassist:

I get hired to kill people who start dumb threads on forums, I'm wealthy beyond compare and can afford all the basses!!! :) ...........

This thread is funny.

No,THIS joke is funny:

Guy goes to a Doctor (he's not feeling well)
Doctor says:
"We have to do tests! Call me tomorrow and we'll have the results."

Guys calls the next day, asks what happened:

Doc says: "I've got GOOD news...and BAD news."

"OMG!" says the patient, "Tell me the bad news first!!!"

Doc says: " Well, truthfully, there's NOTHING we can do for you; you'll probably be DEAD by noon, Sorry!"

"OH Noooooooooo!" He replies; "What could POSSIBLY be the GOOD news????"

"Well, Fodera called, they finished & will be shipping my $15,000 expensive bass that I can afford because I'm a Doctor
TOMORROW!:hyper:

Now that's Funny!

The trick with money is not to live paycheck to paycheck. Save something, don't get in debt. I live on disability and even with that I manage to save enough to buy something nice every once in a while. Put 50 or 100 a month away and see it add up over the years. Cut in expenses that are unnecessary. Have a tight food budget, your body will thank you later. If you pay to have friends, you have the wrong kind of friends. Same goes for finding love, those things should be free. Don't believe the media, they are only trying to sell you stuff.

The way I look at it is, that if you spend half of your income on wine women, and song, it's ok to spend the other half foolishly.

I have a system to deal with my monthly bills that works like this:

As the bills come in the mail, I put them in the order that I receive them in a shoe box. When the box gets full, I move. :roflmao:

Realized I had 28 basses in my collection at one point and could never get to all of them enough to justify having them all. Decided I was spending that much on instruments anyway, so sold most of them off and now have around 7 phenomenal instruments built to my specs from awesome luthiers/companies. To be clear, this philosophy works for me, not saying it's for everyone.
