Forum pages keep refreshing?

I can't say if this is a forum issue right now or not.

When I load a page it comes up but then refreshes with a new ad on the side and just keeps refreshing. I finally have to hit the "stop" button in my browser to get it to stop.

From here I am using Win 7 64 bit and IE 8. Not sure if anyone else is having the same issue or not but it's repeated itself quite a few times.

Maybe the problem your having is related to the problem I'm seeing?

It is definitely a different problem, but maybe they result from the same root cause?

This is certainly not normal behavior. I'd first suggest that you scan for any malware or virus on your system. Can you tell me what ads you see when in a refresh "cycle"? This may be a rogue Adsense ad that has some bad code...

Hi Paul,
They were flashing by so quick it was hard to tell. It's not doing it so far today though and I didn't find the same problem yesterday using a Mac with OSX and Firefox.

The only detailed description I can add is the page would start to load at the top of the page, then it would flash to the "last read" message down the page and then it would immediately do the same cycle again and again until I hit the "stop" button a bunch of times. Even if the "last read" post was at the bottom and the "reply" window was there clicking in it as if I was going to post a message would not stop the refreshing either.

...and forgot to mention that the ad on the left side changed on every refresh but as soon as it filled in the page would refresh so it's hard to remember what ads were there.

It was doing the same thing to me all day yesterday. I have ads blocked and it was still doing it. I ran virus scans and anti malware and that wasn't stopping it.
And then this morning it was back to normal. Hahahaha It was very annoying that's for sure.

Huh. I still suspect a rogue ad on Google's Adsense network. I'm guessing that enough publishers reported it and it's been pulled. Otherwise, I don't know why it would suddenly fix itself...

Anyway, let me know if this issue resurfaces.
