Found a video with Jamerson!

I had not seen this before. The Midnight Special has been a guilty pleasure, skimming through to see old bands playing.

Just watched this one, and my jaw dropped when I realized it was James Jamerson on bass.

From my understanding, this was well past his prime, and he was not working much at this time. Sounds like he may have messed up the little break in the middle, but his groove is there.

Wow, checking out the rest of this show. At 56:32, sounds like it could be him playing behind the Spinners. Really nice. If it is not him, it is someone playing his style.

There’s a video of Marvin Gaye playing at the Kennedy Center in 1972 with Jameson on bass. They did Inner City Blues which Jameson didn’t play on for the record, it was Bob Babbitt.
