hi all, I’ve recently had to replace the wooden barstool I’ve used for years because my dog decided to chew through one of the supporting dowels and I was concerned that it wasn’t going to last much longer and I came upon this one here. (priced in Canadian funds) I have the 24” model but similar stools are available up to 28”. I’m pretty pleased with it, nice and light and folds up for easy transport, and it supports my 220+lbs quite comfortably for the price. I just wanted to pass this along in case someone here is on the lookout for something similar.

below is a comparison pic (note the teeth marks) as well as a pic of my dog Tucker, looking quite pleased with himself.

Tucker is obviously letting you know that you spend far too much time practicing and far too little time lavishing praise on him. Who’s a smart boy?
ha! since I got him a year ago (I’m in my mid-60s and he’s the first dog of my own that I’ve had since I was a kid) I spend waaay too much time playing with him and not nearly enough time practicing! it’s a fair trade-off, for now. 🙂

I have the same type folding stool and find it very convenient to carry and transport.
I have found only one downside; with my old stool, a padded seat version of your original, if I wanted to play a song or two standing up, the folding stool folds up a little too easy and can’t be moved out of the way with one hand like my old lightweight, ridged, wooden stool could.
So, I guess that just encourages me to stay seated…or stay standing…whatever I start with.

Fire the dog.

I had german shepherd puppy once who chewed up the wooden handle of an expensive screwdriver.
I screamed bloody murder at her for almost the entire day..
After that, the only time she touched my tools were to retrieve them and bring them to me when they were lost or misplaced.

Tucker’s destructive tendencies only lasted for a couple of months after I got him. once he settled in here and became used to his new home he’s pretty much been an ideal dog. rescuing him is the best thing I’ve ever done.

Mogi was the same.

He was found on the street, and when I took him in, he was afraid of getting in the car, was afraid of the grass and had a mild destructive tendency. I trained him, and always let him outside when I was out. But let him sleep inside since he came to live with us.

He chewed the dog house, some plants, and the garden furniture. Inside he only chewed one of my slippers. I corrected him when he did that. Then I started to let him stay in for short periods. When I went out for about 10 minutes, then 30, then longer.

Now he doesn’t chew anything, not even outside. And he gets the right to be inside every time, now. I can be gone the whole day, he doesn’t do anything bad. And I have the DB and the basses at plain sight.

I think he knows how much I care for those things.

I never had a dog, and I didn’t really wanted him. But now he’s my best friend.

have you considered a wobble stool?

just one example, lots of different makes and price ranges available. I have a couple of cheapo plastic ones around the house in a smaller size that come in handy when I’m doing any sort of hobby/repair work. they’re great for the back deck when company comes over too.
