Found an Old Bass...

I have recently found an old bass, but I honestly know nothing about it and figured it'd be best to come to a community that knew basses best!

front body:

Was kind of just looking for some more insight on what it is (as I cant seem to find any exact matches online)- I might look to get it restored and cleaned up.

It's not active...volume knob + tone knob. The keys to nailing it down are A) the serial # B) if you take off the neck (no biggie, just requires a phillips head) there will be a date stamp on the body and the neck. Once these 2 clues are revealed, we can pinpoint this gorgeous gem :)

These things trouble my mind:

- string tree
- pickguard
- brass bridge
- pickup
- pearl dots in the fretboard
- neck plate
- neck plate screws

Also, the pics are too dark and blurry to really see any details. The tuners seem OK, though. If it is in fact a 70's Fender it has been modded heavily. Would be nice to see some 'internal' shots - neck pocket, neck heel, pots, ear side of pickups.

It's where the strap latches on (which is a giant leather strap), and the other is on the back as well (where the back neck plate is) -- whereas most other photos I've seen the strap latches on the top left body area. This is a closer up of the "screw":

Photo-quality wise yeah, I'll have to get an actual legit camera rather than just my iPhone.

I understand tjhe fear of removing the neck from a bass, however, once you unscrew it and take a look at the neck + neck pocket...then screw it back on...your fear will have become a thing of the distant past. It is honestly no big whoop at all. That will tell you ( and us ;)) almost everything we need to know to complete the intent of the thread :)

Well, these photos wont be of a whole lot of help as the information is really faded/small and hard to make out even seeing them first hand.

There was this stamp, which appears to say something along the lines of
"NSP" on the top, a 31 in the middle, and "NSP" on the bottom

As well as these numbers, which again are really hard to read, however I'm pretty confident the numbers are "103 1234"
