Found roll of thin copper in my shed - help?

So I was cleaning out an area of my shed that had junk left from the previous owner and I came across 2 rolls of thin copper. I've been modding guitars for years and thinking of building a few for myself.

The rolls are 12" width and I have about 20' of it.

It cuts easily and cleanly with a good pair good scissors...

would this be any good for sheilding the inside of the control and pup cavities?

(Also found was a very large roll of 24 guage tooling aluminum, any ideas what I can do with it?)

No, it is just a plain roll...looks the same on both sides.

I've used copper sheet like that many times before the stuff with the conductive adhesive was easily available. You just have to cut and fit it into the cavity(s) and solder edges together. Fairly simple really, it just takes a little practice.

Actually I haven't...funny 'cause I live in a nickel/copper mining town too...a few of my buds work at the refinery, and tons spend all day underground.

Gonna check on the current price of copper to see what it's worth.

The neighbors to my friend's summer house was broken into and robbed of all its copper plumbing. And left with the water running.

2.10 a pound in my parts. I just took a ton of copper off a roof I was redoing and cashed it in for 1600 bucks. My boss said I could have it. Later he asked, "What'd you get for that? A couple hundred bucks?"

"Yup!" was my only reply...... LOL

I've attached copper foil like that using 3M spray adhesive... what was it... Super77, I think?

Super 77 is a pretty widely used one from my understanding. I've used it for paper, and to repair carpet. It's pretty strong.

Speaking of carpet, you can also use carpet tape to stick it in the compartment.

What about wrapping a bass body with it? That would be a cooler use IMO, since copper tape with adhesive is readily available when you need it for cavities. You might even be able to do the neck as well; it would be kind of a poor man's Ritter Royal.

Would then probably need a poly coating, I would guess.
