Fractal AX-8

I you've already been asked this I apologize.

I am primarily a bass player but am a multi instrumentalist and end up guitar and synth from time to time depending on what serves the song.

That being said for fly dates the AX8 is super appealing to me right now. "One pedalboard for all mankind."

What are your thoughts? I know this model has a limited CPU so I would still need a few boxes but very curious to your thoughts on the approach.

I'm not sure why you think you may still need "a few boxes" with an AX8. When used with intelligently thought out presets and scenes, it's way more than capable to cover an enormous amount of tonal ground.

Been using Fractal products for over 4 years now, and have had an AX8 since launch date (I was pretty early on the wait list). I have a couple of threads about my experiences with it in the FX and Amps forums as well.

Thanks @Selta ! I have skimmed through a few of your threads and already found them to be super helpful. The limited CPU is far more relative to guitar patches. I can't imagine ever using more than a few fx at a time on bass. I could only see that happening for me on guitar. My understanding is that the really complex reverbs pull especially hard on the cpu.

Generally what happens there, is folks leaving the reverb at the highest quality setting, which is not at all required even for studio use. If you drop it down just one notch, it opens up the CPU a ton.
Where are you located?

Nope. Once Fractal added the B7K model to their lineup, I took the last pedal off my board and just run AX8 for live use. Axe-Fx II in my studio still, more just because it's already there and racked (the studio became it's permanent home once I dialed in my AX8).
