Framus Star Bass Reissue 5/150 Pickguard/Pickups

Does anyone here own the Framus Star Bass Reissue that came out a while back? I'm talking about the one with the pickups and wiring all attached to the pickguard. What's to keep the whole contraption from bouncing up and down and hitting the strings? I noticed that on the original there was a small piece of metal attaching the treble pickup to the bridge itself. But the distance between the pickup and the bridge is much greater on the reissue. The closest thing to the bridge would be one of the pots. Has anyone had a problem with this design? If so, what have you done to secure the pickguard assembly to the top of the body?

I did a Google images search for the 5/150 reissue and could not see exactly what you seem to be describing. Nor did I see any way the whole contraption could bounce up and hit the strings. There is a bracket which anchors down the lower part of the pickguard to discourage bounce.

Is this a problem you are currently experiencing, or are you merely looking ahead? Have you considered placing a foam shim or some other material under the pickguard in order to minimize any bounce you may be experiencing?

Dear GW: Thanks for the reply. You would have to have the guitar in your hands to know what I'm talking about. The whole thing is secured only on one side. There's nothing to stop the pickups from banging against the body or coming up and hitting the strings. To be honest, it's not something I'm currently experiencing because I haven't gotten it back from my friend yet but he says it's definitely going to be a problem. It obviously was a problem with the original... hence this fix (see attached image). Unfortunately with the new one, I can't do this (different spacing between the bridge and pickup)
