I've been using VU Player for a long time (mostly for playing flac files without having to convert them), and I like it a lot, a very small program and very simple. On the VU Player website, they list MIDI as a file format that it can support, but I've never used it for MIDI files.
yeah was gonna say, your built in computer soundcard almost certainly has gm midi, and any of the basic audio players, WMP, winamp, quicktime, VLC, realplayer etc should play it no probs!
