Fret Buzzing on the other side?!?!

Hi, I have this strange buzzing problem on my bass..

But it is on the other side of my fretting finger..

It is quite annoying and it is most noticeable when I play chords..
It seems that other higher notes are resonating with the string.
Has anyone dealt with the problem?
Do I just give more neck relief?

Well, it is not my fingering..
If it was, I would've posted this on technique folder..

To clarify again, the buzzing is from in-between my fretting finger and nut.

it's called back-buzz, and it's an annoying "phantom problem". it's not predictable, doesn't really come through the amp, and another player (who might fret that note differently) would never notice it.

raising the nut a little usually fixes it (at the cost of slightly stiffer fretting action)
